What to do?

It's raining.  It's going to be raining the entire time my parents are here.  I can't do any touristy things with them because they don't want to go anywhere in the rain... unless we go hang out at a local shopping centre, which frankly they could do at home.

I ask them if there's anything they'd like to do.  They say they don't mind.  They ask what I would like to do.  I say I don't mind.  I don't know where to take them or what to do with them. They are kind of happy just sitting at home and watching television, but then I feel bad that I'm not being a better host and I think they feel that they're intruding on my life and forcing me to entertain them.

Underneath it all is the unspoken recognition that we are strangers who happen to have a lifetime of history together. We really don't know each other at all; and although there are valid (albeit complicated) reasons for that, it is still very sad.

:( I'm sorry.

Will pray for fine weather and Good Touristy Times.

(That's an Oxymoron for ME, but hey, you could try.)

I never thought I'd be sad about rain. I hope things go OK.
