The aftermath of the Big Black Dog Incident

After The Terrible Incident With The Big Black Dog (which I've just moved to its very own post) I had a relaxing day and was pleased that I got through it with no lasting trauma.

Until, that is.... the nightmare.

It was a normal dream - although, weirdly, set in the canteen of the high school I left 21 years ago - when, without warning, my dream-self was suddenly being chased.  I ran, I ducked, I weaved, but to no avail.  It caught me.

A Big Black Dog, you ask?  No, it was... an ostrich.

And we wonder why I'm in therapy.

That sounds awful.

Being allergic to dogs I understand the need to avoid, dodge, duck, weave and RUN!!!

And ostriches are even worse, apparently! :) It was a very strange dream. I woke in the middle of the night saying, "Wha-? An ostrich???" I have no idea where my subconscious dragged that up.

Hmmm. Maybe doing the short course on dream interpretation might not be such a bad idea. It seems like you could use some help!

Well you got that part right! :D

I see nothing odd about that. Dreams are absurd, a ridiculous Freudian soup of oddities. Neither ostriches nor pterodactyls would surprise me much, in the world of dreams.

Oh dear. An ostrich? I wonder what it all means? Dreams are wonderful things. Or maybe you had drunk too much Femina before bed? Anyway you are funny so keep dreaming!!!

Only make it about tall dark and handsome rather than about some hairy bird next time. I dont think it means a great deal really, you will find that something may be worrying you that is totally unrelated, it was hot, you ate something that didnt agree with you or something like that.

Ostrich's have scary feet! I don't blame you!

LOL. I would need therapy too! I have to say an ostrich would scare me much worse than any dog ever could!

I've never even seen an ostrich in real life so that makes it doubly strange. And (to Lilly) the only thing I'd had to drink was tea, and it didn't even have caffeine! Oh well... at least my dreams keep me (and other people) amused.

When I woke from it I thought "That was weird.... (pause)... I'll have to blog about that later." Yeah, I'm addicted. :)
