Drastic measures

Sometimes they are needed...

(That is the freezer, in case it's not obvious...)

wow!

what brought that on?

Partly a rather alarming total debt and partly the realisation that I deal with (ie, ignore) grief and pain by compulsive shopping. It was out of hand and until I have learned a better way of dealing with grief I need to make it really REALLY hard for myself to shop. Unfortunately I know one of those card numbers by heart so I can still shop online but I'm trying to resist that too.

Wow! That is great, Fem. Very drastic... I wonder if it would work for chocolate?

Femina said...

Definitely not. I put my chocolate in the freezer anyway; I love it like that!

I think it would take more strength for me to freeze my cards than to not use them. Having said that, I'm off to Toowoomba to spend money! - and I couldn't have made a snap decision if my card had been frozen.

... Ohhhhh, I think I get it now.

By the way, well done on seeing the problem and fixing it. Well done you.

Hip-Jen, I want you to know I am valiantly resisting the urge to make some sort of 'snap-frozen' pun here.

The thing with freezing them is, I can't defrost in the microwave because of the metal on the cards, so even if I crack it and decide I need to shop I still have to wait a while for them to defrost... that makes it impossible for me to make a snap decision and hopefully that gives me time to reconsider.

hey, I love the concept of a snap-frozen pun. I didn't spend too much, though.
